Lucy Rollins
Lucy Rollins is a Burlington-based artist whose work is inspired by the boundless detail in the natural world and her affinity for repetitive work. Through her meticulous drawings, the artist hopes to create imagined landscapes that are playful and celebratory. Lucy combines monoprint silkscreens and pen by drawing with black ink on top of a screen-print. The monoprint creates various forms and emerging patterns that she accentuates and repeats with the drawing process. Lucy loves this technique and never has much of a plan for the piece; she just follows her hand along the organic shapes and trusts the process.
This piece is called "Murmuration", which is the term for a group of Starlings; birds that move together and apart in beautiful patterns.
